A PLEA FROM THE INMATES OF TAIZ ZOO.©

We are wildlife from sun-soaked lands;
Look into our eyes –
We cannot feign; see our pain!
Our souls long for the wild habitats
From which we came.
Here at Taiz, we are tethered
By an invisible choking chain.
In the darkness of dirty cages
Of concrete and steel –
No tree, no grass, no sun do we feel –
Just the stench of lingering death.
Food for all is but a little grain –
Not nearly enough to sustain;
We resemble the walking dead.
Skeletal animals covered with skin;
Wounds that need care and medicine.
This is our sorrowful life –
Please help us to overcome our plight;
Join us in our survival fight.

PLEASE DONATE, ASSIST, SHARE
And if at all possible help us to relocate!
